Sproutly Bot - Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Sproutly Bot collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. Sproutly Bot is designed for entertainment and gameplay within Discord servers and collects only the minimum data required for its features.

2. Information Collected

Sproutly Bot stores only the information needed to provide its gameplay features. Data is stored separately for each Discord server and tied to your Discord User ID. This includes:

• Discord User ID
• Discord server (guild) ID
• Discord display name used when creating a plant
• Plant data (hydration, growth, type, health, etc.)
• Economy and inventory data (coins, seeds, items, purchases, and sales)
• Care actions, achievements, streaks, and other gameplay progress

The bot application does not request or intentionally store:

• Real names
• Email addresses
• IP addresses
• Messages outside bot commands
• Location data
• Sensitive personal information

3. How Information Is Used

Collected data is used exclusively to:

• Provide plant-care gameplay features
• Track plant growth and user progress
• Maintain inventories and coins
• Maintain leaderboards, achievements, and server gameplay
• Improve bot stability and functionality

Sproutly Bot does not sell or disclose user data to third parties for advertising or gameplay processing.

4. Data Storage and Security

Gameplay data is currently stored in a JSON data file on the bot host. Depending on deployment, that file may be local storage or a mounted cloud volume. The bot repository is configured not to commit the live data file. The bot operator and hosting provider may have access to the host or storage. Reasonable measures are taken to protect data from unauthorized access, but no storage system or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Data is retained until the account is reset, a deletion request is processed, or the deployment storage is removed. Deployments without persistent storage may lose gameplay data when the service is recreated.

5. Data Sharing and External Services

Sproutly Bot does not sell user data or send gameplay records, Discord IDs, names, or command contents to external services. The bot requests current weather for Tampere, Finland from wttr.in. That request contains the fixed location and the bot’s user-agent; it does not include user or server gameplay data. wttr.in may process ordinary technical connection information such as an IP address under its own policies.

6. Data Removal

Users may request deletion of their gameplay data at any time by contacting the bot owner via Discord or GitHub. Users can also use /reset confirm:Confirm to immediately delete their account data for the current server. Upon deletion, the stored plants, coins, inventory, display name, and progress associated with the user and that server are permanently removed from the active data file. The bot may be unable to remove copies held in host backups outside its control.

7. Children’s Privacy

Sproutly Bot is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Users must meet Discord’s minimum age requirements and comply with Discord’s rules.

8. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated at any time. Continued use of the bot after changes means you accept the updated policy.
